This program requires students to complete 60 hours of graduate credit beyond the master’s degree level. The Doctor of Arts program of study is designed by the student in consultation with the student’s supervisor. The student submits a proposal for the Doctor of
Arts program to the university that is based around their own creative arts practise and it is approved by the student’s supervisor and the Principal.

The Doctor of Arts at Victoria College is delivered entirely at a distance and uses a flexible and individualised, student-created program of study. In this way, the manner in which the student fulfills the degree requirements can be tailored to each student’s educational and
career goals.

Entry requirements

Students for this qualification must already hold a Masters degree or an equivalent award in a related area.

Students should not only academic qualifications but need to have considerable professional experience in the field in which they plan to study. As a rule this should be 8 or more years professional experience with at least 3 years at management level or equivalent within their discipline. How much time do I need?

  • Most of our students study part time, completing 12 credits a year.
  • This will usually mean studying for 6-12 hours a week.
