It is designed to prepare for careers as composers and professional arrangers\/orchestrators at a high level. Students will already be assumed to have a sufficient standard of harmony,counterpoint and orchestration alongside form and theory to begin the course without additional support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key features of the course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Study a wide range of musical styles and skills<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Extend your skills in analysis, composition and contextual study to a high professional standard<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gain practical experience of orchestration and composition for a range of mediums\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Relevant to a wide range of careers including music performance, teaching, composition, community music leadership, and musicologist as well as further study of Music.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em>As an American-validated practical degree at postgraduate level, this award prepares you to study further and would normally lead to a place on either a higher masters research degree or doctoral study.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entry requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Entrants to the course should hold either a bachelor\u2019s degree or other undergraduate level award in music such as licentiate level diplomas.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students at should have a strong knowledge of musical theory equivalent to graduate level before commencing study alongside the required pre-requisite qualifications.
