The Doctor of Arts program of study is designed by the student in consultation with the student\u2019s supervisor. The student submits a proposal for the Doctor of<br>Arts program to the university that is based around their own creative arts practise and it is approved by the student\u2019s supervisor and the Principal. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Doctor of Arts at Victoria College is delivered entirely at a distance and uses a flexible and individualised, student-created program of study. In this way, the manner in which the student fulfills the degree requirements can be tailored to each student\u2019s educational and<br>career goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key features of the course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Study a wide range of musical history and skills<\/li><li>Extend your skills in analysis, composition and contextual study to a high professional standard<\/li><li>Study orchestration and composition for a range of mediums&nbsp;<\/li><li>Relevant to a wide range of careers including music performance, teaching, composition, community music leadership, and musicologist as well as further study of Music.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><em><em>As an American-validated research degree at postgraduate level, this award prepares you to either continue to post-doctoral research or into consultancy and senior management within your field<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entry requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Students for this qualification must already hold a Masters degree or an equivalent award in a related area.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Students should not only academic qualifications but need to have considerable professional experience in the field in which they plan to study. As a rule this should be 8 or more years professional experience with at least 3 years at management level or equivalent within their discipline.
