Research should be of a standard above that of the MA but not at that of doctorate. Recorded performances and approved multimedia and digital materials may now be included within the submission, along with an academic thesis of the standard length as appropriate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Because of the diversity of research topics possible, the MPhil programme at Victoria College does not involve a core taught component. There are required elements as part of the course but in general students will be working primarily with their individual supervisor following a bespoke pathway.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key features of the course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Students of this course will;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2.<\/strong> Developing essential skills for undertaking research including time-management, self-discipline and self-motivation;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>3. <\/strong>Learn a range methods of research used in contemporary academia;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>4. <\/strong>Engaging in informed and productive discussions with peers;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>5. <\/strong>Exploring ways to utilise their research expertise in their chosen field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Entry requirements<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Students for this qualification must already hold either a good Bachelors degree in an appropriate subject or a taught Masters award such as Master of ARts\/Research\/Education etc with evidence of research experience.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates with lower grade Bachelors or little research experience may apply for the Master of Research degree and then progress to doctoral study. Candidates are required to submit an initial outline of their proposed area of research with their application to enable allocation of appropriate supervision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How much time do I need?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Most of our students study part time, completing <strong>6 credits a year<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This will usually mean studying for <strong>6-12 hours a week<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Course Summary &nbsp; Qualification: Master of Philosophy Course code: PHILM Credits : 36 How long does it take?
